General Practice Rural Incentives Program (GPRIP)

The General Practice Rural Incentives Program (GPRIP) commences on 1 July 2010. GPRIP was funded in the 2009-10 Budget as part of the Rural Health Workforce Strategy.

The program aims to encourage medical practitioners to practice in rural and remote communities and to promote careers in rural medicine. It combines two previously separate retention incentive programs available to General Practitioners (GPs) and Registrars, and provides a new relocation grant. GPRIP comprises:

Help with accessing large documents

When accessing large documents (over 500 KB in size), it is recommended that the following procedure be used:

  1. Click the link with the RIGHT mouse button
  2. Choose "Save Target As.../Save Link As..." depending on your browser
